The 2018 Cabernet Franc opens with cherry blossom and raspberry, followed by kirsch notes and hints of espresso bean. The Cabernet Franc and Merlot combine in perfect harmony throughout a finish that showcases refined tannins and a post rain minerality.
The 2018 season produced extraordinary fruit with great phenolic accumulation and without high sugar concentration. Late winter rains and a cloudy spring delayed bud break and flowering during the 2018 growing season. But then, fortune shined on the vineyards with ideal fruit set conditions, which drove up overall fruit volume by 20 to 30 percent. As the summer rolled in, steady heat accumulation and only a few heat spikes laid the way for a near-perfect fall growing period.
